Myrrh is a resin that is perhaps best known as one of the three gifts the Three Wise Men/Magi gave to the young, baby Jesus (along with Frankincense and Gold). It was mentioned several other times in the Bible, listed as an ingredient of “holy ointment” in the book of Exodus; as a item used for purification of women in the book of Esther; as a perfume in the Song of Solomon; and as an ingredient to make incense in the Jerusalem temple.

Myrrh can be used ritualistically for purification, cleansing, and banishing negative entities and energies. It may also be soothing to the nervous system and may assist in relieving pain.
